The Guild: One Day Workshops

Into the Heart of the Divine

A one-day workshop devoted to experiencing our hearts in fulfilled and intelligent ways. Many of the great sages of old refer to the heart as the seat of the soul. Throughout the ages the heart has been referenced as a source not only of virtue but also of intelligence. Within the last few decades neuroscientists have found that the heart has its own nervous system, its own brain. To cultivate our own heart intelligence is to nurture our relationship with the Divine and journey into the heart of our Creator. This day is devoted to opening the doors of perception into a heart-centered way of seeing and being.

•    History of the heart within the ancient teachings and religions
•    Anatomy of the Heart: spiritual, emotional, and physical
•    The field of God and the imagination
•    Importance of heart intelligence in changing times

Empaths, Sensitives and the Art of Inner Weaving

Sensitives, caring and responsive people are often called empaths. Empaths carry the energy of receptivity deep in their beings. Often misunderstood as children who are “overly sensitive,” they learn to shut down, which only complicates and convolutes their communication with the outside world. Many of those people are drawn to a spiritual path where they are more accepted and their empathetic gifts are valued.

Are big crowds difficult for you? Do you “feel” other people, know when they are upset or have a headache? Do you suddenly have no energy, don’t want to answer the phone? Do you ever feel overwhelmed by too much input? Have you felt or been told you are hypersensitive and you know that you pick up on all the energies around you and lose a sense of who you are and what you are feeling? Are you hyper-sensitive to food and environments? Do you have an overpowering sense that you are “not from here”?

If these questions resonate with you, this is your day. It is important that the empath take responsibility for the nature of his or her own being. This course gives you, the sensitive, the means by which to manage and move with this receptivity and with consciousness. Techniques and tools are taught to facilitate you in your sensitivities and capacities. In like-minded community, we support and shape our innate receptivity and responsiveness into a coherence with the world around us.

The Eye of the Shaman

A one-day course on the shamanic way of seeing. This world of deep respect and interconnectedness was once our ancestors’ world and still is strong in our DNA memory. What does it mean in our world today to be a part of all life and to live in an interconnected world of being, not a world of things and isolation? This is an alive day, and a good introduction to a regenerative seeing of the shamanic practice in the 21st century. Discover for yourself how this viewpoint and practice provides real solutions for your life and the new and pressing questions of our times. This is an excellent introduction to either of the yearly courses and is prerequisite to the 2nd year course: Deepening the Shamanic Perspective and Practice.

Me and The I

Our conscious brain processes 12-24 bits of information per second. Every second 11 million bits of information floods our senses. This information is processed by our subconscious/non conscious self (me). Millions of bits of condensed information are condensed into a conscious experience, and millions of bits of information are discarded along the way. So who, one asks, is running the show? When we understand this principle of the Me and the I and how to build bridges between the two, then we are beginning to integrate the ancient Hawaiian teachings on forgiveness. Our ancestors taught us that the prayer of forgiveness is the true bridge.

2012 and Beyond

As our planet spins into the galactically proclaimed time of 2012, what does it mean for you and me?

Are you wondering how to navigate the heightened anxiety and overload of information we appear to be swimming in? An entire way of thinking is eclipsing, the call to cluster together to imagine ourselves differently is paramount. This day will cover the instructions from our ancestral indigenous voices and what it looks like for us, in 21st century language. How can we create an alignment with principles that inform, as opposed to deform, our living planet? How can we rise to a shared vision and be part of a community way of seeing and doing? How can we shift ourselves first, then the world?

Let us spend the day exploring and visioning who we are amidst these changes and together create ways to daily reinforce our new behavior and make the shift.

Discovering Your Personal Allies, Power Animals and Archetypes

This one-day workshop covers the indigenous perspective on power animals and helps you retrieve your power animal for yourself.

“Let a man decide upon his favorite animal and make a study of it—let him learn to understand its sounds and motions. The animals want to communicate with man, but Creator does not intend they shall do so directly—man must do the greater part in securing and understanding”. Brave Buffalo, Standing Rock.

We will also cover the basics of Shamanic journeying, protection and the art of returning from the invisible worlds with gifts for family and communities.

Brains on Beliefs

This is a day where we explore our brains through our shamanic traditions and shatter the illusions that trap our thinking. This beautiful organ is an amazing sorter and manager extraordinaire and is highly capable of transforming gunky belief systems into pure gems of rare clarity, value and excellence. When we come to our brain with compassionate understanding it transforms into our ally and servant of the heart. This workshop brings you into understanding the four-fold brain and the partnership of right and left hemispheres along with the brain in our heart and gut. When we lead from a collaborative place of all three, we are in the field of transcending old ancestral patterns into a new world of increased love.
